Dr. Satinder Sartaaj was born on 2nd November 1980 in Nangal Kalan village, Hoshiarpur district. He showed an early passion for Punjabi poetry and classical music from childhood.
Completed his postgraduate studies in Punjabi Music, building the deep academic foundation that defines his artistic output.
His debut introduced the world to his signature Sufi-Punjabi style. "Sai" and "Ikk Tara" became anthems for a generation of Punjabi music lovers.
One of the very few mainstream artists in India to hold a Doctorate in Music. His stage name "Sartaaj" — meaning Crown — was a gift from his university peers.
Played the role of Maharaja Duleep Singh, the last Sikh Maharaja of Punjab, in this internationally acclaimed Punjabi historical epic. The performance earned global praise.
